Weir Type | Operation The Asvik Diaphragm Valve is normally mannually operated. Closure of the valve is achieved by rotation of handwheel in the clockwise direction, which through the stem compresses the compressor which in turn compresses the flexible diaphragm against the weir of the valve body to provide cushioned, leaktight closure. Opening is a positive operation, achieved by rotating the handwheel in anti clockwise direction, the diaphragm being lifted by its moulded stud. | Straight
