Weir Type

Operation
The Asvik Diaphragm Valve is normally mannually operated. Closure of the valve is achieved by rotation of handwheel in the clockwise direction, which through the stem compresses the compressor which in turn compresses the flexible diaphragm against the weir of the valve body to provide cushioned, leaktight closure. Opening is a positive operation, achieved by rotating the handwheel in anti clockwise direction, the diaphragm being lifted by its moulded stud.

Installation
Asvik Diaphragm valves can be installed in any position, in horizontal, vertical or sloping pipelines. Reasonable access for the operator may be provided. In case of difficult access, chain wheel operation valve may prove the best solution.

Accessories

Indicating Stem
This design is a simple method of showing the valve closure position, by extending the stem through the closure cap.

Indicating Stem With Travel Stop
Indicating stem is threaded to accommodate stop nut and lock nut, a convenient method of limiting stem travel to prevent over-compression of diaphragm on the body weir.

Chainwheel Operator
Valves fitted on the overhead and inaccessible pipe lines can be operated by chain wheel provided with an endless chain.
